Welcome to the website of the Queer Caring research project.
This research is the Doctoral project of Zoe Hughes – you can read more about me on the ‘About The researcher’ page here.
The purpose of this research is to investigate the experiences of family carers in Ireland who identify as part of the Queer Community (that is, the LGBTQIA+ or Sexual Minority communities). I am undertaking the research as fulfilment of the Doctorate in Social Sciences in University College Cork.
I decided to build this website to share all the details of the research in one central place – making sure that all the participants can see how their contribution to my research is being used, how it’s helping me to complete my Doctorate, and how and when I am sharing the results of the research with academics, services and others. I want to make sure that this research is not something that is done and then no more is heard.
So, please explore the various sections, including the Project Updates Blog here – I will be keeping you up to date there as much as I can. If you want to talk to me about this research, please email me using the contact form here.
